The Walk/ Trot series is open to beginners to dressage and horses who have not yet established any canter work. If you have previously been Walk/ Trot Champion or Reserve Champion (as a horse/rider combination) in a WSRC dressage series, you will not be able to compete at Walk/ Trot level in this series. Please note that if you are entering this class and want to do the Prelim too, you may only compete in the Prelim as an H.C. competitor.

The Prelim series is open to any combination who has not won a Prelim test or higher in an open competition. If you have previously been Prelim Champion or Reserve Champion (as a horse/rider combination) in a WSRC dressage series, you will not be able to compete at Prelim level in this series. If you are competing in the Walk and Trot you can only enter the Prelim as an H.C competitor.

The Novice series is open to any riding club member.

Points will be awarded up to sixth place in each competition of the series and the overall winners of each series will win free membership of the Riding Club for the next membership year. The reserve champion for each series will win free instruction up to the value of £15.

No plaiting is necessary but the usual Riding Club rules on dress, tack etc will apply. Please note this particularly covers wearing a hat of the current standard with a three point harness attached.

Due to the popularity of the series, the number of entries per person will be limited. Places will be allocated on a strictly first come, first served basis. People entering more than one horse may be balloted out if there are too many entries.

Entries must be accompanied by the fee of £5 per test or £13 if you enter the whole series (made payable to West Surrey Riding Club). Entries should be sent to:-

The test times will be available on the club website www.westsurreyridingclub.co.uk on the Thursday evening before the test. Alternatively you can ring Louise that evening between 7 and 9 PM on 01483 429657 The Walk and Trot tests are available either on the website www.westsurreyridingclub.co.uk or by sending an SAE to Louise at the above address.

HELP NEEDED PLEASE

As always we need a few helpers for each event in order for it to run smoothly. If you are able to do any of the below of any of the three events, please contact Louise Farrant 07833 567266 or email louise.louisebrown@gmail.com

Ring Steward : To open and shut gates, fetch competitors from warm up if necessary, collect sheets from judges for scorer and read the odd test for those of us too old to memorise them!

Scoring : To arrive and receive judges, show them to their spot, provide tea and coffee etc. Add up scores on completed sheets and hand out rosettes at the end.

Writer : We may need writers for each date depending on whether the judges bring their own or not.
